GLORIOUS WORD DEVOTIONAL

22/06/2022

DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?

(1 Corinthians 15:55) “O Death, where is your sting?”

The word ‘sting’ in our theme scripture is used as a noun rather than a verb. In this sense, it means deception, trickery, or an object which can cause a very sharp pain. Apostle Paul questions death by saying, ‘O Death, where is your sting?’ Then in verse 56 of 1 Corinthians 15, he shows us what this sting is. He said, ‘the sting of death is sin’. But do you know in Christ you are a new creation and so all your sin doesn’t exist?

Jesus took your sin so that you will have no sin (John 1:29). This means sin cannot dominate you any longer. In fact, you have to be forced to sin. You can easily refuse fornication, adultery, telling lies, backbiting, greed, and all sinful manners by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Bible says, ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new’ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Since Jesus took away your sin, the sting of death has been taken away. This should make you fearless in the face of death. Start praying and declare that deception, trickery, and the pain death causes have been disabled in your life. Halleluyah!

Confession: I am in Christ, hence I am a new creation. Old things are passed away. Now all things are become new. Jesus took away the sting of death which is sin for my good. Death cannot sting me anymore. I am master over death now. Halleluyah!

Say this if you have never been born again. I declare from today that Jesus Christ is my Lord and I believe that God raised Him from the dead.

Congratulations

You can begin to attract God’s goodness into your life from today.
