PRAY FOR YOUR LEADERS
(1 Timothy 2:1-2) Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
Do you want to live a peaceful and quietable life in your city, town, country, or nation? The answer is in offering supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all men, and for those who wield power. This simple act is God’s antidote to promoting peace in the world. This is important because there are spiritual forces that control men (Ephesians 6:12). So to get our leaders to behave correctly and do the things that please God, we need to pray for them. Supplication, as used here means making petitions in prayer. Prayers, as used in our theme scripture refer to praying with all earnestness and seriousness especially when we gather to worship. The word intercession means to stand in prayer for others before God so that He can have mercy on them and bless them. This is one sure way to prevent doom from coming on people. Finally, the scripture said, we should give thanks for all men and our leaders. This is important because it is God’s prescription for a peaceful and a quietable life.
Today spend time in supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all men and your leaders. Declare that they will act in a godly manner. Extend this prayer to the leaders in your home, family, work, and others. Halleluyah!
Confession: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I declare that it is well with my leaders. I declare that God’s Spirit fills my leaders for them to act correctly. I speak peace into their lives. I speak health into their lives. I declare that God shall move their hearts to do good for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus. I stop the devil from influencing them. Halleluyah!
