GLORIOUS WORD DEVOTIONAL
(Acts 6:4) but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.
The Bible reports in Acts 6:1-3 that ‘Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists (the Greek-speaking Jews), because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution (of food and other things that were shared). Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business’. It was after this that they declared that ‘but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word’. This statement clearly shows their commitment to prayer and the Word of God.
Every true Christian must be committed to God’s Word and prayer. God is happy because He already showed Himself to be zealous (Isaiah 9:7).
David also added that the zeal of the Lord has eaten him up (Psalm 69:9). Do you want to do great things for God? Be committed to Him by continually giving yourself to prayer and the Word. If you do this, you will get the kind of results the disciples achieved in the Acts of the Apostles. Ask the Holy Spirit of God to help you stay committed to God. Halleluyah!
Confession: The zeal of the Lord has eaten me up. The zeal of the Lord in me makes me give myself to prayer, fasting, and the study of the Word of God. Because of this I achieve heavenly results only. Indeed I am committed to the things of God. Halleluyah!
Say this if you have never been born again. I declare from today that Jesus Christ is my Lord and I believe that God raised Him from the dead.
You can begin to attract God’s goodness into your life from today.
